Vida Vegan Con 2013 Goodie Bags

As I mentioned on previous post, the Vida Vegan Con goodie bag was so darn big it deserves its own post. So here it is. Mauro and I each got a bag so multiply all this by two. Yay! Products listed sweeping from left to right: Allison’s Gourmet – Chocolate Almond Toffee I’m not a toffee fan but I couldn’t get enough of these. They were so good! Hemp Hearts – Hemp Seeds I buy these regularly. They’re so yummy sprinkled on anything. Beanfield’s... Read More

Top 10 Highlights of Vida Vegan Con 2013

Vida Vegan Con (VVC) is a conference, geared toward vegan bloggers, but you don’t have to be vegan or a blogger to attend. Rightfully named “the vegan love fest” (love fest as in spreading the love, not an orgy) after the first one in 2011, which we sadly missed. We too went to Portland!

It seems everybody has been busy writing about Vida Vegan for the past couple of weeks. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other Nations, caught with ourselves... Read More

Vegucated Kids: An Animal-Friendly Alternative to Dissection

Remember when you were about 12 years old, transitioning from one school to another, and trepidacious about your future? Ha, I think I’m still like that in some ways. Most of my memories at that age were focused on school, the place where I spent the majority of my time during those early formative years. The prospect of changing schools and attending classes with *gasp* strangers was quite daunting. It’s a milestone, leaving elementary school and joining the ranks of the... Read More

Vegan Chocolate Dessert Class

Chocolate mousse cake When you think of chocolate, what comes to your mind? Hershey’s kisses in your lunchbox? Biting desperately into a hollow chocolate bunny from a decorated basket on Easter morning? A melty birthday cake your mom made on your 7th birthday? Chances are, your memories are deep-seated and concentrated, most likely from childhood. This is one of the flavors you don’t forget if you love it. I remember going to a chocolate shop near my grandmother’s house... Read More
