On Saturday, October 15th, our Bucks County Vegan Supper Club partnered with Char Nolan and Whole Foods Market Devon for our ThanksLiving event. When we met Char back in August, we had spoken to her about plans we had for our Supper Club. We had wanted to plan a holiday event and wanted to call it ThanksLiving (after the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary event) since it would be animal and cruelty-free. Char had asked about helping out with it, and told us the Market would be happy to provide drinks and dessert for us.
This was a fun and unique event for us—in terms of having our Supper Club meet at a location other than a member’s house, and because we actually met members we’ve never met before or hadn’t seen for quite some time. I’m guessing this might be an issue from some other groups—once they start maxing out the group, it gets harder to accommodate people. Even though there wasn’t one central location in which we could gather, it was really nice to have all the food in one place and to be able to mingle and talk to people. We were also fortunate to get to try some FreshaPeel Hummus! (pumpkin dessert hummus anyone? It was wonderful, as were the other savory hummus selections!). Issa Ostrander from Mompops provided the dessert. We have some members who really enjoy cooking, and it was obvious by the array of delicious food that they brought to the event.
We would like to thank our members, sponsors, Whole Foods Market Devon, and Char Nolan for helping to create such a fun event!
