Vegan musician Emaline Delapaix is an Australian singer, composer and musician who lives between rural Western Canada and Germany with her big orange cat Reece. She spends a lot of time writing odd folk pop for piano, acoustic guitar and harp and sometimes whatever else she has lying about the place. Some say she sounds a little like Kate Bush or Tori Amos, but she also loves a lot of Scandinavian music: music that invokes the weather like storms and warm sunsets. I personally love Kate Bush and Tori Amos and fell in love with Emaline’s music when I first heard it.
Emaline is completely independent, booking her own shows and has played concerts in Canada, USA, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Australia, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Poland,
France, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Slovenia including lots of vegan/veggie events in Germany and Austria. She travels a lot and says “being vegan can be tough on the road but it’s possible. I am living proof!”
She began playing music full time 3 years ago after packing in a crappy job in Toronto and moved to a caravan in rural Eastern Germany at the beginning of a very cold winter where she taught herself to play piano, acoustic guitar and baby celtic harp. She writes about love just like most songwriters do but also tries to write about the darker sides of life like depression —which she suffered from terribly until she changed her life and became a full time musician/vegan— as well as travel, nature, animal rights and a lot more.
Her CD’s are handmade and self recorded with her guitarist using recycled card and eco friendly inks. She also gives a small % of CD sales to local animal charities via online sales and concerts. Last month she raised money for Happy Kuh here Germany, a lovely cow sanctuary.
